This award is to recognise industry-leading performance by a company, association or individual, between January 2022 and January 2023 in making specific efforts to champion and develop a diverse and inclusive culture within the geotechnical sector and/or their own organisation. The entry should demonstrate how the organisation or individual is championing change and fostering a more diverse and inclusive industry and workforce. It should also describe how this is helping to attract and retain talent within the industry or company. This can be illustrated at head office, project or initiative level, and can be focused on the role an individual is playing in driving change.

Time for change: Action not words! Black History Month Event

Time for Change: Action not Words is more than just an event title, it’s a movement. This event was the first of its kind, and a long overdue call to action for us to enforce positive changes in the construction industry for good. Working together as five key names in the industry, Flannery, SCS, HS2, Mott MacDonald and Danny Sullivan Group opened up a safe space for important conversations to be had and for a variety of voices to be heard. Following revelations from the day, pledges were made for action to be taken across the industry. These promises will be followed up on and accountability will be taken by these five companies, with the hope that other companies across the sector will follow suit and help to push for the changes that need to be made.
