This award is to recognise industry-leading performance by a company, association or individual, between January 2022 and January 2023 in making specific efforts to champion and develop a diverse and inclusive culture within the geotechnical sector and/or their own organisation. The entry should demonstrate how the organisation or individual is championing change and fostering a more diverse and inclusive industry and workforce. It should also describe how this is helping to attract and retain talent within the industry or company. This can be illustrated at head office, project or initiative level, and can be focused on the role an individual is playing in driving change.

The Affinity Networks - Ability Affinity Network

The Affinity Networks of EKFB have established themselves as pillars of the joint venture. The works they do directly contribute to the development of the D&I strategy, supports the people of EKFB and its supply chain, and acts as visible representation of traditionally underrepresented groups in the industry. The Ability Affinity Network celebrated its first birthday in December 2022 and committed to project managing an IPT-wide month-long event that has further contributed to a working environment of vastly improved psychological safety. Our people now feel more confident to self-declare their disabilities and health conditions, share their experiences, and contribute their own stories and lessons to continue our journey to Belonging excellence.
