This category is open to any company that can show excellence through new product or technology development for the ground engineering industry between January 2022 and January 2023. Entrants must demonstrate how the innovative new product or technology has delivered benefits in health and safety, in-use performance, sustainability or cost during on site delivery of a geotechnical project. Evidence to show how the product or technology can improve the performance or quality of service that the purchasing company offers to its clients is essential.

SM13e E TECH line is the first Soilmec “zeroEmission” electrified micropiling rig. All Drilling functions have been electrified to maximize rig efficiency and operation. 4 permanent magnet motors - the same electric motor – improve efficiencies while guaranteeing easier and more responsive controls, along all the drilling operations. 3 configurations are available for perfect flexibility: Plug-in version, cable connected, Battery version powered by the main battery pack, or both together (cable and main battery), as shown at Bauma in 2022. The rig can operate for 24 hours a day, in battery version as well, thanks to the patent-pending Battery Swapping system. 2 motors on rotary guarantee precise drilling controls. 1 motor on the pull-down system allows it to drill in full-electric mode. And finally: a real Zero-local CO2 emission and impressive noise reduction, to improve the sustainability of our World.
